The Middle School MYP English L&L teacher is responsible for planning, delivering and assessing developmentally appropriate instruction within the International Baccalaureate framework. An ideal candidate will have at least five years of middle school teaching experience and a teaching license. KAS offers the MYP and DP programmes in the high school, so IB experience is also preferable. Our MYP English department program prepares students for the IB DP Language & Literature and Literature courses.

• Experience with UDL unit planning, co-planning and co-teaching.
• Recent IB MYP training and current middle school teaching certification.
• Strong understanding and respect for a diversity of cultures and the needs of language learners.
• Has life experiences that demonstrate, among other things, a growth mindset, versatility, adaptability and resilience.
• Effective communication skills utilizing a variety of mediums and techniques.

Kaohsiung American School (KAS) is a private, not-for-profit day school established in 1989 for the children of expatriate families in Kaohsiung. • Actively contribute to a positive, collaborative school culture and demonstrate commitment to child safeguarding.
• Support other duties as assigned by the Learning Support Coordinator or Student Support Services leadership.
